Terms & Conditions
Last updated 8 September 2026
Slighe is operated by © 2026 Gage Yates, an individual sole operator ("Slighe", "we", "us"). These Terms form an agreement between you and Gage Yates. Questions can be sent through the Help page.
1. Acceptance
By creating an account, joining a group, or continuing to use Slighe, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please stop using the service. You must be of legal age to enter a contract in your country, and if you use Slighe on behalf of an organisation you confirm you have authority to bind it.
2. What Slighe does
Slighe is a shared ledger for splitting expenses among people in a trip, household, couple or group event, plus a personal budget tracker and a manual credit-card reward suggestion tool. Slighe does not move money, hold funds, or process payments between members. Balances shown are a record of what members have told us; settling up happens directly between you using your own payment apps or cash.
The card reward suggestions are based only on the reward details you enter yourself. They are informational, are not financial advice, and are not a recommendation to apply for or use any financial product. You are responsible for verifying your own card terms.
3. Your account
You must give accurate information and keep it current. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without your permission.
4. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use Slighe for any unlawful purpose, or to break any applicable law or regulation;
- commit fraud, send spam, harass other members, or impersonate anyone;
- infringe anyone's intellectual property or upload content you have no rights to;
- interfere with the security or integrity of the service, including introducing malware, probing or scanning our systems, bypassing access controls, scraping data, or placing unreasonable load on the service;
- use another member's balance, expense or receipt data for any purpose other than settling shared expenses within your group.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of the expenses, notes, receipt images and other content you add. You grant us a limited licence to host, store, process and display that content solely to operate the service for you and the members of your groups. Receipts and expense details you add to a group are visible to the other members of that group: do not upload anything you do not want them to see.
6. Our intellectual property
Slighe, including its software, design, branding and documentation, remains the property of © 2026 Gage Yates. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service. You must not reverse engineer, resell, redistribute or circumvent technical limits of the service.
7. Service availability
We work to keep Slighe reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free performance. Features may change, and maintenance or outages may occur. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
8. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access to the service where there is a material breach of these Terms, a security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. Where reasonable and lawful we will tell you first. You may stop using Slighe and delete your account at any time. After termination you will have a reasonable window to export your expense history; afterwards your data may be deleted or anonymised.
9. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages, including loss of profits, data or goodwill. Our total aggregate liability is limited to USD 50. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury where the law does not allow it to be limited.
You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your content, your unlawful use of the service, or your breach of these Terms.
10. General
You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of the business. Neither party is responsible for delays caused by events beyond its reasonable control. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, USA, and disputes will be heard by the courts located there. If we change these Terms we will update the date at the top of this page and, for significant changes, notify you in the app.
